this has some potential

i think this is better than the "remix" that you uploaded last time anyway (you need to specify the original author...) the strong point is probably the well done syncopation of the parts. not all the instruments mesh - but somehow still sound pleasing. worthy of a few loops...(didn't tire me really quick like many songs here do).

thank you and i apoligize for wasting your time on the other 1 lol

using demo versions...are we?

sorry - just had to point that out because I would do it occasionally to some of the times...

cool little ditty though.

#1?

i mean - it's an okay synth string accomp...but nothing I would be ecstatic about showing a record producer...

one of those songs

where it's easy to tell that it will be good from the beginning. turned out to not be exactly my style - but the concept was extremely well carried out...

not perfect. but nonetheless worthy of a 10

actually quite clear

I'll give you a 9...but only because I know you've got in you to extend yourself a little more. the elements were very defined frequency-spectrum wise and easy to keep track of even when the mix got busy. I think this is of course what makes the amateur level stuff immediately apparent is the lack of depth and proportion to instrumentation that allows individual parts to occupy an actual "space" in the song without getting buried as more parts enter in. I think the soundstage could be just a tiny bit deeper...

of course - it is quite well done overall. no glaring inconsistencies.

the kick is huge, but...

that's the reason there is very easily detectable distortion. the song is quite interesting though - yes. almost surreal in nature while not seeming to be a huge departure from the norm. it's definitely good, some of the elements are little too predictable - but that can work for some pieces and it doesn't act as the fatal flaw here. I'd put this at a 7 because some of the parts seem to have unintended bits of dissonance which becomes a little disruptive. a better look into theory, chord progression and harmony would probably ameliorate that.

all in all - the fault isn't one particular issue but more of a combination of small things that bring the overall score down for me.

IDReaper responds:

Thank you for your review. I will try to improve on the points you have mentioned. Yeah, I made the kick using headphones, so that didn't work out to well. It's okay though, I've been working on it for a long time just for fun, and I will continue to do so.

instruments seem a tad too weak.

This is on the upper end of a 6. The concept is okay but the instruments feel weak - which might have worked had this been a minimalist piece. The crazy reso-freakout part at the end is just a little disturbing as well. I mean, something could well be made out of this - it would simply need to be crafted with a little more creativity.

Eggwoman responds:

oh that part at the end? that was supposed to be just a loud annoying noise haha

the rest of what you said: thanks for the crit, it'll help if i make more music
