fun as all get-out

You've got a knack for this. This piece was seriously more fun than most everything I've listened to since some of the incredible pilot songs that accompanied early editions of FL Studio and the Japanese import techno remixes I've heard of some popular video game musics.

Keep at it!

this is fresh

it's easy to tell that this took a lot of work. It has a very very unique blend that I would agree somehow seems to side on the "Harvest Moon" area of the video-game music spectrum...

well worth a top spot

DomesticTerrorist responds:

:D Thanks!

well done

i think this particular chord progression tends to get used A LOT when trying to evoke emotional imagery - and for good reason. It makes layering harmonically interesting instruments very easy to do as it tends to allow sustained notes landing on places in the scale to be held that you normally wouldn't be able to pull off with a different set of chords.

The 'drums' were a nice touch. Timbali? I can never remember the names of all the flippin percussion pieces that are available to ones arsenal now that using foreign instruments sets has become so popular.

kelwynshade responds:

Exactly. Somthing about these chords strike the heart in a certain way. You got the drums right on the money.

Can't wait til I get around to actually workin on this again.

everything rocks

i just didn't like the synthetic elements at the beginning and that enter a points later on.

everything else = awesome.

quality

i wanted maybe a little more craziness. but this is just so good...

this is a classic

no doubt at all.

You were back in the ole amiga times eh? I can tell with just that line right there that your not another one of the typical teeny-boppers around here. I assume you were using Melodyne for pitch correction? Nice. The vocals are just about perfect. Honestly - I have nothing but positive critique for this number. It's so good, that it sounds to have just the same level of production as the other world-famous trance mixes I've heard through the intranets. If you can make better stuff than what you've got right - that would be a real trick.

SkyMarshall responds:

Hey! And yes, I was very much back in ye ol' Amiga-days with all the great ones. Had the time of my life back there, and began making music back then. And Im getting old ... damn! No, didnt use Melodyne. Actually I usually use Antares-software, but this time around the pitch-bending was minimal - so I used Adobe Audition's parameters to achieve it. Nothing to complicated in this one, as I wanted my voice to be nerdy and natural. Hehe. I'll try to top my self ofcourse, thats why we keep making music, right :) Thanks for your 10 and otherwise a great review, I love it mate :)

you must have some killer gear/pluggies

because there ain't no way your music is going to punch like it does here without it. extraordinary production

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thats awesome to hear. I use a podX3 and record in Cool Edit Pro, or Cubase.
Metaljonus uses a podx3 also, I believe. Don't know his recording program though.

Many thanks for the listen!

very curious construction on this one

Something about is striking. It is absurdly complex and deep in a point-counter point sense. This would sound phenomenal if it were to be done live and as a much longer song with involved sections and possibly more instrumentation...

awesome....absolutely gorgeous

in a minimalistic sort of way (on average). This really deserves to become one those beautiful full-fledged 6:00 goa club bangers...

sonicxtreme responds:

thanx!

nice work

lovely, really. minimalistic, but really effective. there's definitely a groove there...

again - wish I had reason 4 lol. maybe i should just stick to working on my synthesis abilities period before I get in over my head...

Quarl responds:

meow.
