absolutely inspiring

what makes even more beautiful is just the fact that it isn't a perfect sounding piano that is being used - but it IS the RIGHT piano that is being used...something I think a lot of composers miss. You don't always need the most bomb equipment and stereo-widened to hell sounds to make something sound right. In fact - it's crippling to have all perfect sounding things.

The mix is very wet with all the reverb - but in this case - you know how to use that to your advantage whereas (again) many other composers would find themselves drowning the piece in it. It seems your instruments at least know how to "swim" so to speak.

Though it's just 2 simple chords, they turn out to be tremendously effective...but that was probably very evident from just the first time you played them. I know how that sort of stuff goes...

kelwynshade responds:

Exactly. Sometimes when some of us sit down and strike a few notes, you can already hear the whole song pan out. If something is strikingly emotional from just a few keys, usually we're on to something.

I appreciate the comments, especially since you're right on the money. Sometimes the perfect sound isn't always what makes the perfect song.

geez i really like how this flows

I mean - it's not that anything in particular stands out...it's just the feeling behind the orchestration and melding of all the instruments. For the purpose - it is indeed perfect.

kelwynshade responds:

thanks man. Agreed, nothing too over the top, just something you'd typically hear while switching through the options.

Thanks.

wonderful

A great expose/etude of heavy metal. Nothing groundbreaking - just very fun and clean.

great work

Professional level quality stuff. I'm not crazy huge punk/metal fan but this is very well thought out - and deserves much MUCH higher honors than it has already accrued...

Vocals would put it at a 10 I imagine (for me). But honestly - it's very very solid work. Classy.

Evil-Dog responds:

haha nice :) thanks for the comment

sounds good

I like the mix. It's simple and quaint and right as I would have done it (minimalistically...) Reminds me of a really good dj album I heard back a while ago. Everything is really solid.

sonicxtreme responds:

^_^thanks....

well

It's sounds like you just took someone else's midi orchestration of the song and played it back through the garbage dls gm bank that comes on windows xp and recorded the output. Can't say I'm impressed.

Unless you went through and scripted the midi out all the way on your own I don't see why this would deserve any high ratings.

SupraDarky responds:

It's a videogame remix, not an original composition. I'm not sure where you're coming from and I'm not using a Windows XP bank or whatever that is. I use FL Studio with soundfonts I modified myself. If you think this is just a midi with instruments slapped on, which would probably take about 5 minutes to do, then I guess there's no need to bother more than this. ;)

It's a very well orchestrated little number

for some reason - it sounds dynamic, but doesn't really pack as much of a punch as it feels like it should. Enjoyable however. I think i may just be that you would need higher quality instruments...as it is - it sounds a little like a glorified SNES rpg battle sequence or something.

it could be completely out of tune...

and it still would be awesome as all get-out. Nice.

Actually a really good job with all the voices...I mean - it's not perfect. But it's way funny.

sonicmega responds:

I agree, it's not perfect by any means, but it's at least a good submission, and that's an excellent place to start in my opinion. Now I just need to start making these comparable to Kirbopher's submissions of win.

this is soo funny

serious props for this. This is some funny funny stuff. Can hardly believe what I'm hearing. I can't stop laughing. This completely deserves top spot. The recording quality is really really good as well. Great work on the voice as well.

"flippin sweet"

you know how to entertain man...you just do. this is classic just for the variety. love it.
