fantastic

no criticism for you here. This flows effortlessly and seems to dig deep for that wealth of content and character. This is simply too good to not download. Light-years ahead of so much around here and even 90% of the commercial stuff available. Would like it to be longer I might add. Should be pressed onto vinyl and played in clubs all over the world.

i love these songs...

Really neat. Soundtrack worthy as usual. The quality almost makes me think of the Harry Potter movies (sorry) but the scores for those were quite well done (naturally). Wonderful arrangement here. Hard to go anywhere but up, and well - frankly that will be a very good thing. I would think people looking for soundtracks would be stupid not to enlist someone like you.

this rocks.

Dang. It's incredible. I can feel the emotion being presented here. I've got to download this one. It's absolutely top-notch. geez. so good.

Reasoner responds:

Awesome,,thanks for downloading it!

10 for the recording quality especially...

Phenomenal recording quality! What are using to mic this thing? It sounds really full and oozing with character. Sounds like some slight compression on there as well. Very nice. Quite enjoyable. Wish I could get my Kawai upright to sound like this. I guess I should post some of my piano songs. They don't sound quite as good (I had some crappy sm58 ripoff mics...) though. I suppose I could eq em to death though!

5/5

Reasoner responds:

I would love to lie right now and say that I used AKG C414's on the front with ribbon mics underneath in a studio hall hooked up to some killer preamps. But I'm afraid it's a multisampled piano patch from the Reason Refill Pack. I know.....I feel ashamed...lol. I couldn't fit a baby grand in my apartment ;-). Thanks for the review though.....your stuff is awesome as well.

very realistic...

oh my. I thought sound was coming from my speakers when really it was just from my headphones. That's how I know something sounds right. It always fools me into thinking it's coming from somewhere else and not the actual source. Well done! You're likely using an expensive library or something.

Geigamg responds:

Haha well in all hopes it will sound as epic as I want it too when i am through with it, but before that i have to make a D&B track ^_^.
Thanks for the review, i am fond of it.

excellent...

smooth. beautiful. Such a nice little piece. I don't like the quick delay on the piano. Drums are well executed. chord changes!! wow! wasn't expecting that. this needs to be much longer and revamped to one of those "epic trance" pieces...

i can hear what it would sound like. it would be awesome of course.

you clowns don't know how to rate...

half of you cheerleaders out there rating this stuff wouldn't have a clue if a decent loop smacked you in the back of your head.

you think this is worth a 2? or less?

No. and please do the world a favor and never become a music critique for any major publication. the production here (while minimalistic) is superior than so much crap thrown out around here...

the end. period.

I don't really like death metal growling vocals

but 8 for production and overall coolness. Good job! Most of the elements were recorded really quite well (not perfectly, but decent). Creativity and spontaneity are definitely the strong points here...

sculpted-cold responds:

I'm a terrible vocalist, but none of my friends wanted to do vocals for it so I just threw some over the song, hehe. I guess I should mention this was first written as a joke, but I've grown kind of fond of it as of late. Maybe I'll try to actually form the band.

Thank you for the review, though. :D

this is funky man

okay fine - I wont break the string of 10's you've got going on here.

This is some seriously fresh stuff, man. Something about it is just completely chill. Really easy listening and good for relaxing. It might just be all samples - but the way that you've put them together is what matters. You've got quite the feel for this stuff. I like it. Pretty awesome. I wonder what it would sound like for you to branch out and try some drastically different genres...

Soothsage responds:

Check Out the Blues section. There is some good stuff I've Been engineering lately! Throw out your wallet, Deeper blues, and held down by an anchor! You Are right this is a lot of sampling on this track, good ear! The drums are me however. Thank you for giving some thought into your review, I thank you for the even handed review.

why do your songs not have any reviews??!

a really curious one here. It's definitely experimental and almost minimalist (well, then the beat comes in). I think you've got the whole groove thing down. That's really what counts for these chillout type tracks. It's not necessary to have them be too overly progressive or anything, so good work.

Soothsage responds:

Thanx bud! That's a real nice thing to say! Dude, I know that I don't have a lot of reviews. Trust me I wish I had more, it would help me a lot. But you know I have a lot of silent downloaders for some reason! And that is what makes me truly curious,.,.,.and stoked!
